Auto Injuries
All Care is Typically 100% Covered By Auto Insurance

Diagnosis and Treatment

It is estimated that there is about 3 million whiplash injuries per year in the USA, according to Dr. Arthur Croft of the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.

During an accident, the head and neck is accelerated 3 to 5 times faster than the acceleration of the car. This sudden change in speed (about 1/10 of second) produces the damage to the structures (muscles, nerves, ligaments, etc.) and causes neck pain and other problems.

The resulting instability of the spine and soft tissues can cause headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, pain in the shoulder, arms and hands, reduced ability to turn and bend, and even low back problems. As the body attempts to adapt, symptoms may not appear for weeks.

Car Accident Injury Treatment

Chiropractic care is by far the best treatment for whiplash injuries, hands down. This is also backed up by a group of orthopedic surgeons from England. In a study done by Gargan, Bannister, et al, they reported in the British Journal of Orthopedic Medicine that chiropractic care for chronic whiplash patients was superior to medical, acupuncture and physical therapy treatments. Patients reported higher satisfaction with chiropractic care 2 to 1.

Regardless of Fault You Have a Right to Get Care

According to Utah State law 31A-22-307 Personal Injury Protection coverage and benefits ‘covers the reasonable value of all expenses for necessary medically, surgical, X-ray, dental, rehabilitation, including prosthetic devices, ambulances, hospital, and nursing services, not to exceed a total of $3000.00 per person’. (Some carriers may offer higher benefits… check your policy).

Typically, Personal Injury Protection insurance (or ‘PIP’) will cover 100% of Elite Performance Health Center services up to $3000. When care beyond ‘PIP’ limits is necessary to achieve maximal medical improvement and another party was liable for the accident, it is highly recommended to retain the services of an attorney.

Typically, any unpaid balance beyond ‘PIP’ limits is covered during settlement through the efforts of an attorney and the insurance carrier.
